About the Owner

Meet Ron Degner

Ron Degner began working for small, independently owned plumbing companies right out of high school in 1994. He attended a four-year trade school during his plumbing apprentice period, and after completing the apprenticeship, he passed the City of Cincinnati Journeyman exam.

As a Journeyman plumber, Ron continued working with small plumbing companies. In 2006 he joined a national plumbing chain as a field manager. After one year on the job, he was promoted to general manager of a branch, a role he held for seven years before purchasing a national franchise location in 2015.

In 2015 Ron started a new phase in his career when he bought Zest Plumbing and Drain. The company remains dedicated to offering our customers top-notch service at reasonable prices.

With Ron’s experience working for both independent and national chain plumbing companies, he is able to apply the best of both worlds to Zest Plumbing and Drain – friendliness and personal attention of a family-run business paired with the organization and experience of a larger company.

We noticed a damp area in our front yard recently and suspected a water leak. My husband dug up a small section to check the extent of the leak before calling Zest Plumbing. The customer service person told him someone would be out as soon as he finished his current job. Wally arrived within an hour of our call and quickly assessed the situation. He explained the options for replacement and said another coworker would be coming to help out with the job. I am sorry, I forgot the name of this coworker. Both employees were very knowledgeable about line replacement and plumbing issues in general. They were very polite, courteous and honest. They replaced the old, broken up pipe with a new quality pipe line from home to curb within a few hours. Everything was cleaned up and checked out before they left for the day. Thank you so much Wally and your coworker. You both deserve a raise. This was a job well done, in a great time for a great price. We highly recommend Zest Plumbing. They were an 'Answer to a Prayer.'

We had an excellent service experience with Zest Plumbing & drain recently. I called Zest at around 1:00 pm on December 30th to schedule visit to clear a clogged kitchen drain. The friendly representative told me that someone could come out between 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm that same day. At 2:20 I received a text from Zest to tell me that their plumber, Patrick U. was on his way and would arrive in the next 15 - 30 minutes. Patrick arrived as promised, assessed the clogged drain situation, and got to work to get the drain cleared. Patrick was very friendly and pleasant and explained what was likely the problem with our drain. He also told us about some other service options we may want to consider in the future. Patrick quickly resolved the drain clog and cleaned up the work area before he left. I definately recommend Zest Plumbing & Drain and will not hesitate to call them again when the need arises.
