Schedule:  Saturday through Wednesday (Thursdays and Fridays off)

Pay Range:  $25 to $45 per hour plus performance bonuses

Location:  Based out of Scottsdale. General service area covers Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Phoenix, Mesa, Tempe, Gilbert, Chandler, Glendale, Peoria, and Fountain Hills.

What You Will Do

Handle residential service calls across our Scottsdale and Phoenix metro service area. Typical days include drain cleaning, water heater repair and installation, leak detection and repair, slab leak diagnosis, fixture replacement, water treatment service, and general plumbing repair. You will work out of a stocked company truck using Housecall Pro on an iPad for dispatch, diagnostics, and invoicing.

What You Bring

• 3+ years residential plumbing service experience
• Valid Arizona driver's license with clean driving record
• Strong customer service skills and professional appearance
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in tight spaces including attics
• Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen

Bonus Points For

• Experience with water treatment systems (softeners, RO, whole-house filtration)
• Tankless water heater install and service experience (Rinnai, Navien, Noritz)
• Gas line work and gas leak diagnosis
• Slab leak repair experience
• Bilingual English / Spanish

What is a typical day like for a plumber at Zest Plumbing & Drain?

Most service techs run 2 to 4 calls per day across Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, and the East Valley. You get your route from dispatch first thing in the morning through Housecall Pro on your iPad. Calls range from drain cleaning to water heater replacement to slab leak diagnosis. You will be in and out of homes all day, so customer service matters as much as technical skill. We do not micromanage your schedule. We just need the calls run professionally and the invoices updated with proper information and closed out.

Do I need my own tools?

We provide specialized tools stocked in company trucks, including drain machines, camera inspection gear, leak detection equipment, large press tools, and jetters. For personal hand tools, you will need to supply the basics.

What does the schedule look like?

This specific opening is Saturday through Wednesday, with Thursdays and Fridays off. Start time is typically between 8:00 and 8:30 AM, and you usually start from home unless there is a meeting or training at the shop. End time depends on the last call of the day, usually between 4:30 and 6:00 PM.

How does training and advancement work?

New hires go through a ride-along period with a senior tech before running solo calls. Ride along covers our best practices and technology training. We cover ongoing training costs including code updates, manufacturer certifications (Bradford White, Rinnai, Navien, and others), and license renewal.

What is the drug and background check policy?

All hires are subject to a background check and pre-employment drug screen. We maintain a drug-free workplace per Arizona law and our insurance requirements. This is non-negotiable.

How quickly do you fill open positions?

We move fast when we find the right person. From application to offer is usually 7 to 14 days if everything lines up: phone screen in the first few days, in-person interview within a week, paid ride-along day, background check and reference verification, and then offer. We do not drag candidates along for months. The best plumbers have other options and we respect that.
